Our specialists commissioned the largest network of LED displays in St. Petersburg. The displays were ordered by the advertising company "Optiline", a new player on the market of digital video LED display advertising. The 18 LED displays so far installed is only the first stage of the ambitious project to be deployed during the first half of 2009.
The LED display network is made of custom-built 3.7 x 2.7 meter displays with the pixel pitch of 19 mm. The outer frame for this model was specially designed to include the control computer and power distribution box. The total depth of the outer frame for the LED display is only 30 cm, something never made for LED displays so far.
The new format of video LED displays has several important advantages.
Administrative advantages:
- the extremely low power consumption allows to simplify the procedure of getting permissions for the electrical connection to the city mains;
- low weight of the LED display simplifies the process of installation clearances and certificates from the city authorities.
Functional advantages:
- the small size of the video LED display is essential for advertisers at the time when city authorities are waging war against large-size advertising structures;
- in spite of the small size of the image area, the resolution of the LED display is sufficient to show commercials of excellent quality;
- the LED display can be easily connected to audio equipment and thus turn into an analogue of the city TV;
- easy installation procedure: the total assembly time in the street is only about four hours, which helps to minimize expenses for installation.
We should add that today there are several similar (but smaller) LED display networks operating in various Russian cities using the same LED display model: in Tjumen, Samara, and Rostov-on-Don. It's obvious that more and more advertisers opt for this new approach to advertising that "ATV Outdoor Systems" is capable to furnish.
